Making lunch fun

Meet Mr. Bento!

Originally uploaded by .Ariel.

I’ve been coveting the Mr. Bento lunch jar ever since Ariel of Electrolicious began blogging about it earlier this month. Luckily, Vancouver has no shortage of stores selling Japanese kitchen gadgets, so this evening I’m off to find one for myself. Stay tuned for lots of pretty lunch photos.

  1. That’s so retro! =P We had no end of these thermoses when I was a kid but I never liked hot food in them – always a little more soggy than I would like it. And having these thermoses next to kids with a PB&J sandwich and brown bag, I felt like such an oddball. Now I’ve gone to the Western/Canadian side and bag lunch it. =D

  2. Just found this site through Google – were you able to find a Mr. Bento locally? If so, where?! I must have one!

  4. I ended up getting a similar container which is made by Nissan Stainless. I got it at a little Japanese gadget store on the bottom floor of Metrotown Mall in Burnaby, BC.
