Enjoying the last bits of summer
We got back from Halifax a few weeks ago but the weather here has been so lovely that when I haven’t been in school I’ve been outside enjoying the sun, rather than inside writing blog entries.
Our trip to Nova Scotia was wonderful. I got to spend lots of time catching up with friends and doing all my favourite “Halifax things” (going to the market, eating donairs, imbibing at local pubs, etc.). I also did a triathlon while I was there but had a less than stellar finishing time (probably because of all the donairs and beer I enjoyed, and my total lack of training the two weeks before the race!) .
Now that I’m back in B.C. I’m trying to soak up the last of summer, spending lots of time outside biking, running, and swimming. This Monday will be my last triathlon of the season, and then my next “big” event will be the half marathon in November.
I’ve been on campus all summer but classes start again next week. I’ve got one course left to do, which I’m not really looking forward to. However, what I’m really dreading about next week is the huge influx of students on public transit. No more guarantees of a seat on the bus during my commute. *sigh*
