Winter Wardrobe
Some friends and I took a trip out to Coquitlam today to take advantage of the Superstore’s tax-free sale. We weren’t looking for groceries or housewares, though, we were looking for clothes!
I am a huge fan of the Superstore’s Joe line and couldn’t resist the though of picking up some trendy fall/winter wardrobe items tax free. I bought a whole bunch of stuff, though I am having buyer’s remorse on the $29 skinny jeans that seemed so cute in the store, and may return them tomorrow. Awesome finds that I most definitely won’t be returning include red patent ballet flats for $10 and a cashmere-blend hoodie for $29!

Wow. Way to reinforce patriarchal gender roles, Tonka! If I ever have kids you’re not getting a penny of my money.

Pretty wordpress theme.
Wiped
I agree with Airdrie; Blogging every day is hard!
I stayed up until the wee hours last night (5am this morning, really) working on a draft of my thesis proposal, which meant I only got 3 hours of sleep. So rather than blog anything interesting I’m going to go to bed early tonight. *yawn*

I plan to attend this to do a bit of Christmas shopping, but mostly to drool over all the expensive artwork I cannot afford.
Shopping Teams
I am definitely a shopping geek. Luckily most of my friends are not. Although I have gotten into some very infinite-loop like shopping situations myself when shopping online.

Instructables guide to making a nifty little whiteboard out of some paper and an old CD jewel case
Now I remember why I use a Mac…
I reinstalled Windows XP on our home PC today after several aborted attempts yesterday. In the end, the successful solution involved creating a Win98 boot disk from an old floppy (shockingly, Dan had one in his backpack!), and retrieving an old PS/2 keyboard from the deep recesses of our storage locker the basement of our apartment building (since the boot disk didn’t have any USB support). After all that, we finally have a nice fresh Windows installation. Phew.
Oskee Wee Wee
Dan’s dad is visiting next weekend and he’s a big football fan so we’ve bought tickets to the BC Lions playoff game on Sunday.
I haven’t been to a CFL game since I was a kid. Growing up in Hamilton I saw my fair share of Tiger Cats games, and when I was just 8 or 9 my gymnastics team even got to be part of a Tiger Cats halftime show! It was quite the thrill for me at the time.
Funnily enough, despite not attending a game in over a decade and a half, I still have the Tiger Cats cheer memorized:
Oskee Wee Wee
Whiskey Wa Wa
Holy Mackinaw
Tigers … Eat’em RAW!!
The Oskee Yell even has its own wikipedia entry! Well, sort of. Hamilton actually stole the cheer from somewhere else! It was popularized at Berkeley in 1941, but variations have apparently been around since the turn of the 20th century.
