I reinstalled Windows XP on our home PC today after several aborted attempts yesterday. In the end, the successful solution involved creating a Win98 boot disk from an old floppy (shockingly, Dan had one in his backpack!), and retrieving an old PS/2 keyboard from the deep recesses of our storage locker the basement of our apartment building (since the boot disk didn’t have any USB support). After all that, we finally have a nice fresh Windows installation. Phew.
